German opposition leader Friedrich Merz said what position he will take on the issue of assistance to Ukraine if he is elected as the new Chancellor of Germany.
In an interview with Capital, the politician was asked whether he would agree to transfer Taurus long-range missiles to the Ukrainian army. He replied that only in their country the debate is centered around the supply of one weapon system:
“Our line should be this: Germany must do everything possible to ensure that Ukraine is able to successfully defend itself against this aggressive war – below the threshold of entering into the war itself.”
