Russian and American leaders have misconceptions about each other.
US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will have a difficult time negotiating the war in Ukraine, as both leaders underestimate each other.
This opinion was expressed by experts in comments to The Independent.
In particular, the former head of British intelligence, Sir Alex Younger, believes that Trump overestimates his influence on Putin and does not take into account the true wishes of the president of the aggressor state. According to him, only the occupied territories are not enough for Putin.
