Will there be elections in Ukraine during the war?

Zelensky spoke about whether there will be elections in Ukraine during the war.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that there will be no elections in Ukraine until the end of the war.

He said this on November 19 during a speech in the Verkhovna Rada.

Zelensky noted that first there should be “just peace, and then elections.”

“The law does not allow elections to be held in wartime. Ukraine first needs a fair peace, and then Ukraine will hold fair elections,” Zelenskyy said.

We will remind, The Economist called the probable date of elections in Ukraine – May 25, 2025. However, most of the publication's sources are skeptical that this forecast will become a reality.

After that, the Verkhovna Rada immediately denied this information, stating that it is impossible to hold elections in 2025.
